What is the importance of you being in the home construction industry right now?

I'm passionate about this industry and fortunate to work alongside many talented professionals. My approach brings a practical perspective to the building process that enhances the livability of each home. Having an eye for how families actually use their spaces allows me to incorporate thoughtful details that truly elevate the living experience.

At Dews Custom Homes, we believe quality craftsmanship combined with intuitive design creates exceptional homes. I take pride in offering clients a personal touch throughout the building journey - understanding how a kitchen workflow needs to function, how storage solutions can simplify daily routines, or how thoughtful bathroom design makes mornings more efficient.

Do you encourage more women to enter the industry?

Of course, God will always make room for your gift. There’s always room at the table for us. We might have to start at the kids table, but never ever think the grown up table is not available to you. Many people surprised me because they were so willing to help me on this journey. If God has planted that seed, you have to allow it to grow; you never know what He has in store. Let’s go, sis!

Tracy's advice for women who may be interested in becoming a homebuilder.

Get a mentor and spend time with them. There’s a lot to being an entrepreneur that provides a product like a home. Learn the industry from the inside out, ask questions, join groups and educate yourself.

Support received as a woman in construction.

I have support from many women in this industry. We have lunch and share tips, woes and just encourage each other at least once a month. There’s only 2 of us (builders) that I’m aware of in this area, but there are many female realtors and mortgage brokers that are amazing!
